Cyber attack disrupted the work of the Yodel courier service


A hacker attack disrupted the work of the British delivery service Yodel. The actions of the attackers caused delays in the delivery of parcels and problems with tracking orders.

The company did not disclose any details about the cyber incident, but said that customers’ payment information is safe. According to Yodel customers, the courier service did not work on weekends, and there is no information about some parcels for at least four days.

Information security specialist Kevin Beaumont said that Yodel could have been attacked by extortionate software.

According to application Yodel’s representative on Twitter, the company is actively working to restore its systems and receives the support of qualified specialists.

Later, Yodel posted a statement on its website in which it confirmed that a cyberattack was the cause of the service outages and warned users about possible delays in deliveries. In the same statement, the company gave users some basic cybersecurity recommendations.
