Windows 11 will show which apps are spying on you

Windows 11 has received a feature called “Privacy Audit”, which shows the access history of each application to the microphone, geolocation and other data. A new privacy feature tracks apps that have gained access to:

  • Contacts;
  • Microphone;
  • Location;
  • Phone calls;
  • Messages;
  • Screenshots.

“The new Windows 11 privacy audit option allows you to view the history of access to sensitive devices such as a microphone”, – Dave Weston, Microsoft Vice President for Corporate Security and OS Security, announced the new option on Twitter .

The list of applications is available in “Windows 11 Settings” in the section “Privacy and Security”, then in “Application Permissions” in the form of a drop-down menu “Recent actions”which will be displayed for each data category.

Recall that Microsoft recently banned Russian users from downloading Windows 10 and 11. All attempts by Russians to install Windows 11 and Windows 10 from the official Microsoft website fail.
