Russia has introduced fines for forcing the transfer of personal data

Vladimir Putin signed a law that provides for a fine for the illegal collection of personal data when buying certain goods or services. The amended document was published on the official website of legal information.

Administrative liability threatens sellers of services in case of refusal to conclude, execute, modify or terminate the contract with the consumer if he refuses to provide personal data.

The law, which will come into force on September 1, 2022, establishes a fine for officials in the amount of 5 to 10 thousand rubles, and for legal entities — in the amount of 30 to 50 thousand rubles.
