Roskomnadzor has started involving the Prosecutor General’s Office in unscheduled inspections of regional telecom operators to monitor the blocking of prohibited resources. This is reported by Kommersant.
It is noted that such inspections are carried out despite the government’s moratorium. We are talking about controlling the blocking of websites of banned media and social networks in the Russian Federation, as well as filtering traffic.
The moratorium was approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on March 10. However, Roskomnadzor’s inspections of telecom operators, starting from April 22, were allowed by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
A source of Kommersant in one of the federal operators confirmed that since May, inspections have begun to tighten. According to the interlocutor, in one of the regional players, in some cases Roskomnadzor attracts the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Several representatives of both departments came to one of these checks at once,
they connected to the operator’s Wi-Fi router and tried to install mobile
applications that are blocked in Russia, as well as launch them through different browsers,
