Google will disable servers in Russia Google will disable Global Cache servers in Russia

Google has notified a number of Russian Internet service providers about the shutdown of Google Global Cache servers. This is reported by RBC with reference to several sources.

Note that with the help of these servers, accelerated loading of Google services is provided. Including YouTube, which is popular in Russia.

The letter, which was received by one of the regional providers, states that the servers will be disabled “due to changes in legal practice.”

So far, the notification from the IT giant has been received by providers Radiosvyaz and MIPT Telecom, as well as a number of small regional companies. Large operators, including Rostelecom, MTS, MegaFon, VimpelCom, have not received letters from Google yet. All servers work normally, major providers assure.
