The systems of the Indian low-cost airline SpiceJet were attacked by extortionate software on Tuesday evening, which greatly delayed the morning departures of flights on Wednesday. The airline said that all problems have been fixed, and now flights are operated as usual
The airline confirmed this in a tweet: “Some SpiceJet systems were attacked by ransomware last night, which slowed down affected morning departures. Our IT team restrained the attack and corrected the situation, now flights are operated as usual.”
However, numerous customer reports on Twitter and Facebook still reflect the current problems, highlighting flight delays, saying that the customer support service by phone and the ticket booking system remain unavailable.
