RBC sources reported that Russian companies have begun to dismiss or demote IT specialists of Ukrainian origin.
Two participants of the IT market, as well as the head of the ANO “Information Culture” Ivan Begtin suggest that this requirement is secretly established by state customers with whom IT companies cooperate. At the same time, the name of the companies is not specified.
Participants of the Russian Internet Forum, which took place from May 18 to 20, also discussed similar cases of dismissal on the sidelines, believing that Ukrainian IT specialists were being fired “for fear of sabotage.”
The internal security services in companies are now “particularly closely monitoring employees who themselves or their relatives are citizens of Ukraine,” and recommend not to work with such specialists or “take them on a pencil,” according to a source of RBC related to the field of cybersecurity.
According to him, this primarily applies to employees who have access to business-critical data and infrastructure segments.
