In Perm, the sysadmin was convicted of unlawful influence on critical infrastructure


An employee of JSC “Proton-PM” hacked the system of electronic passageways and changed the time of entry to the enterprise. This is the first conviction in the Perm Region under a criminal article on the impact on the critical infrastructure of the state.

The system administrator of Proton-PM JSC was found guilty of unlawful influence on the critical information infrastructure of the Russian Federation (Part 1 of Article 274.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), as well as the use of unlicensed malware (Part 2 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The court imposed a fine of 200 thousand rubles on the man. The verdict was handed down on May 16 and has not yet entered into legal force. told the journalist in the press service of the court.

In March, the prosecutor’s office approved an indictment against an employee of Proton-PM JSC. It follows from the case file that the man repeatedly made changes to the data of electronic checkpoints. Employees of the company’s security service revealed that in the spring of 2021, he changed the time of arrival to work in the management and access control system at the enterprise. The investigation did not exclude that the man did it more than once.

In the case when the sysadmin was “caught by the hand”, if the case of his being late for work was recorded, he would lose the bonus in the amount of about 19 thousand rubles.

JSC Proton-PM is engaged in the production of RD-275 liquid rocket engines for the first stage of the Proton heavy class launch vehicle and its modifications, RD-191 liquid rocket engine components, etc.
