Cisco Systems Inc. suspended business operations in Russia

Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins told employees in a letter on Thursday that “Cisco is terminating all business operations in Russia and Belarus and will continue to focus on supporting our Ukrainian employees, customers and partners by providing humanitarian assistance and stepping up our efforts to protect organizations in Ukraine from cyber threats. We support Ukraine and condemn this unjustified war”.

Cisco joins a long list of companies that have suspended their activities in Russia, including Apple Inc, Oracle Corp. ORCL,Boeing, Exxon Mobile Corp. and Walt Disney Co.

Earlier it was reported that a quarter of CISCO employees left Ukraine due to the escalation of the conflict.
“A few weeks ago, we contacted them and helped them get the opportunity to actually leave Ukraine,” said Chuck Robbins, the company’s executive director. He added that Cisco continues to support the remaining workers in the country. So, one of the support measures was assistance in gaining access to cash.
