Elon Musk has opened access to the Starlink satellite Internet on the territory of Ukraine

Until recently, Poland was the closest Western country to Ukraine, on the territory of which the Starlink satellite operator carried out official activities. In response to a request from one of the Ukrainian officials to provide the country with reliable communication channels in the conditions of active hostilities, Elon Musk said on Twitter: “The Starlink service is now active on the territory of Ukraine. Additional terminals are on the way.”

Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation, Mikhail Fedorov, appealed to Musk with an appeal to provide Ukraine with access to the Starlink satellite Internet as soon as possible.

Earlier it was reported that Starlink has introduced a new tariff plan Starlink Premium. It includes a larger and more productive terminal, as well as data transfer rates from 150 to 500 megabits per second. The speed in the standard tariff is 50-250 megabits per second. Starlink Premium also guarantees reduced latency – up to 40 milliseconds, and increased download speed – 20-40 megabits per second.

Currently, the orbital constellation of SpaceX satellites consists of almost 2 thousand spacecraft, thereby Elon Musk’s company has become the largest satellite operator in the world. According to Wikipedia, Starlink is a global satellite system deployed by SpaceX to provide high-speed broadband satellite Internet access in places where it was unreliable, expensive or completely inaccessible.
